TG Pollinator Gardens

Mrs. Erin Schmidt and Mrs. Katie Koessler have been utilizing the Totino-Grace pollinating garden that biology classes planted last spring as a result of a grant from the University of Minnesota Monarch Lab. Juniors this year have been studying the importance of pollinators in our environment and the impact of losing precious honeybees. Students first went out and made observations of the different plants and pollinators. Then, back in the classroom, they came up with testable questions that they could perform experiments on over the course of the week. Some of the questions focused on flower species, color, location, height, amount of pollen and amount of sunshine.
