During the summer of 2017, Totino-Grace High School can help students explore new activities, expand current interests, discover talents and develop emerging skills. A wide variety of academic, fine arts and athletic summer camp experiences are available for students in elementary, middle and high school. Read on for specific camp details and registration information.

Fine Arts Camps

Beginning Band Camp
Date: August 14-17
Time: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Location: Totino-Grace band room
Grades: entering 4-7

Open to all students in grades 4-7 who are just starting to play a band instrument. Camp participant will need to bring the instrument they wish to play. Learn the basics of your instrument, review basic music concepts, and get to know and play with other students who are beginning their musical journey. This is a great way to get a strong start on your new instrument before the school year begins.

Learn new or develop existing skills for your clarinet. Clarinet Camp is for students entering grades 5-8 with a minimum of 1 year playing experience. This camp will teach specific techniques, tricks and styles of the instrument and allow students to meet and play with other instrumentalists.

High Brass Camp: Trumpet and French Horn

Learn new or develop existing skills for your trumpet or french horn. High Brass Camp is  for students entering grades 5-8 with a minimum of 1 year playing experience. The camp will teach specific techniques, tricks and styles of the instrument and allow students to meet and play with other instrumentalists.

Low Brass Camp: Trombone, Baritone and Tuba

Flute Camp

Jazz Camp

Students will learn and develop skils in jazz technique and improvisation along with rhythm and style consistent with the genre. Jazz Camp is for students entering grades 5-8 with a minimum of 1 year playing experience. This camp will teach specific techniques, tricks and styles of the instrument and allow students to meet and play with other instrumentalists!

Saxophone Camp
Date: July 31 - August 3

Learn new or develop existing skills for your saxophone. Saxophone Camp is for students entering grades 5-8 with a minimum of 1 year playing experience. This camp will teach specific techniques, tricks and styles of the instrument and allow students to meet and play with other instrumentalists!

Show Choir Camp
Date: July 11-13
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with a 1:00 performance on July 13
Location: Totino-Grace choir room and Auditorium
Grades: entering grades 3-9

If you love to sing and dance, this camp is for you! No experience is necessary…just a love of music and fun! Participants will receive a t-shirt to be worn at the final performance. Snacks will be provided daily as well as lunch on performance day. Camp participants should bring a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes and clothing for movement and dance.

Parents and guests are welcome to attend the final production on July 13 at 1:00 p.m. in the Auditorium.

 

Summer Music Academy
Summer Music Academy is for vocal or instrumental students entering grades 6-12, featuring 30 minute weekly lessons scheduled individually throughout the summer

Summer music academy students will develop their vocal or instrumental skills through one-on-one instruction. Individual lessons will be offered for wind instruments, percussion, piano, guitar and all voice parts. Each lesson is 30 minutes in length and can be scheduled throughout the summer based on the instructors and participants availability.

Theater Camp
Date: June 19-22
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Fee: $90 per camp / $160 if camp participant enrolls in both Theater Camp AND Musical Theater Camp

Camp participants will learn acting and performance skills through theater games and scene work, developing skills valuable to the stage performer.  A final performance will be showcased on June 22 at 11:45 a.m. in the Totino-Grace Auditorium.  This camp is great for anyone interested in theater or performance of any kind - no experience necessary. Musical Theater Camp
Date: June 19-22
Time: 1:00 - 4:30 p.m.

Be a part of a champion legacy! The Totino-Grace Football Program offers summer camps for 2nd-12th grade. Whether you are new to football, or a seasoned player, the Totino-Grace Football Camps will help you gain and enhance your skills, develop your athleticism, make friendships and have fun. Coach Ferguson and the football program coaching staff look foward to assisting each player improve their techniques and gain a greater knowledge of the game.

Youth Football Camp for students entering grades 2-9
Philosophy: The Totino-Grace Youth Football Camp is a non-contact camp. Our goals are to teach the basic fundamentals of offense, defense, and the kicking game to each participant. Important skills are taught through individual drills, group drills and lead-up games.

Participants Will Receive: every player recieves a football camp t-shirt

Camp Format: Players are divided into four different age groups (group 1: 2nd and 3rd graders; group 2: 4th and 5th graders; group 3: 6th and 7th graders; group 4: 8th and 9th graders). Athletes entering the 2nd through 6th grade are taught skills related to every position as well as punting and kicking. Athletes entering 7th through 9th grade choose an offensive and defensive position and practice both of these positions at each session.

Impact Period: Only motivated players entering 7th - 9th grade who would like an extra 30 minutes of instruction per day at a particular position should sign up for the Impact Period. This will start at 5:45 p.m. each day.


High School Football Camp for incoming 9th-12th graders

This on-ice training will focus on individual skills such as power skating, shooting, and stick-handling as well as team skills such as passing and puck support.  The camp will also include scrimmages against other high school STP programs (dates, times and locations to be determined).

Fee: $90 ($15 discount for groups of 5+) If you have five or more friends sign up for this camp, each participant will receive a $15 refund of your original $90 registration fee. To receive the discount, please register for the camp at full price (make sure the others in your group are registering as well).  Once all 5 or more are registered, please send an email to Jan Thomas, Activities Assistant atjan.thomas@totinograce.org with the students names in your group.  You will then receive a $15 refund to your debit or credit card.

Camp Details: The camp staff will create an environment where each camper will experience the opportunity to improve technically, tactically, physically, and mentally. The Totino-Grace summer strength & conditioning program is for boys and girls of all athletic levels and abilities and is designed to enhance skills important for all sports. Participants will increase strength, speed, explosiveness, and change of direction ability to enhance athletic performance and minimize risk of injury.

Strength & Conditioning camp for boys and girls entering grades 7-8
The program is designed specifically for middle school students.

The Totino-Grace girls' swimming program is a co-op with the Fridley swimming program. Summer swim camp opportunities will take place through Fridley Public Schools.
