During the summer of 2018, Totino-Grace High School can help students explore new activities, expand current interests, discover talents and develop emerging skills. A wide variety of academic, fine arts and athletic summer camp experiences are available for students in elementary, middle and high school. Read on for specific camp details and registration information.

Academic Camps

Adventures in Computer Coding and Electronics
Totino-Grace is pleased to introduce a new Computer Coding and Electronics camp for students entering grades 7-9. Using a combination of software and electrical engineering, students will learn how to control a microprocessor Arduino. Students will take digital readings of the real world and will send electrical outputs to control lights, speakers, motors, and more! Each participant will design their very own 'smart' electrical system.

Middle School Engineering Camp
The Totino-Grace Middle School Engineering Camp, for students entering grades 7-9, is designed to introduce students to the field of engineering and the essence of the E3 Engineering Institute at Totino-Grace. The camp will focus on the engineering design process with significant hands-on experiences. Participants will create solutions to design challenges and build working prototypes to test their ideas.

Fine Arts Camps

Beginning Band Camp
Date: Monday, August 13 - Thursday, August 16
Time: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Location: Totino-Grace band room
Grades: entering 4-7 and just beginning and instrument
Fee: $65

Open to all students in grades 4-7 who are just starting to play a band instrument. Camp participant will need to bring the instrument they wish to play. Learn the basics of your instrument, review basic music concepts, and get to know and play with other students who are beginning their musical journey. This is a great way to get a strong start on your new instrument before the school year begins.

 
Clarinet Camp

High Brass Camp: Trumpet and French Horn

Flute Camp
Date: Monday, July 16 - Thursday, July 19A

Learn new or develop existing skills for your flute. Intermediate Flute Camp is for students entering grades 5-6 with a minimum of one year playing experience. Advanced Flue Camp is for students entering grades 7-8 with at least two years of playing experience. This camp will teach specific techniques, tricks and styles of the instrument and allow students to meet and play with other instrumentalists!

Jazz Camp 
Dates: Tuesdays on June 12, 19, 26; July 10, 17
Time: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Students will learn and develop skils in jazz technique and improvisation along with rhythm and style consistent with the genre. Jazz Camp is for students entering grades 6-9 with a minimum of one year playing experience. This camp will teach specific techniques, tricks and styles of the instrument and allow students to meet and play with other instrumentalists!

Saxophone Camp

Show Choir Camp
Date: Tuesday, July 10 - Thursday, July 12
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with a 1:00 p.m. performance on July 14

Grades: entering grades 3-9

If you love to sing and dance, this camp is for you! No experience is necessary…just a love of music and fun! Participants will receive a t-shirt to be worn at the final performance. Snacks will be provided daily as well as lunch on performance day. Camp participants should bring a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes and clothing for movement and dance.

Parents and guests are welcome to attend the final production on Thursday, July 14, at 1:00 p.m. in the Totino-Grace Auditorium.

 

Drumline Camp
Date: Monday, June 11 - Thursday, June 14

Percussion Camp
Date: Monday, June 25 - Thursday, June 28

Percussion Camp is for students entering grades 5-8 with a minimum of one year playing experience. This camp will teach specific percussion techniques, tricks and styles and allow students to meet and play with other instrumentalists!


Theater Camp
Date: Monday, June 18 - Thursday, June 21
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Grades: entering 6-9
Fee: $90 per camp / $160 if camp participant enrolls in both Theater Camp AND Musical Theater Camp

Camp participants will learn acting and performance skills through theater games and scene work, developing skills valuable to the stage performer. A final performance will be showcased on June 21 at 11:45 a.m. in the Totino-Grace Auditorium.  This camp is great for anyone interested in theater or performance of any kind - no experience necessary. Participants will receive a camp t-shirt. Snacks will be provided.


Musical Theater Camp
Date: Monday, June 18 - Thursday, June 21
Time: 1:00 - 4:30 p.m.

Fee: $90 per camp / $160 if camp participant enrolls in both Theater Camp AND Musical Theater Camp

Be a part of a champion legacy! The Totino-Grace Football Program offers summer camps for students entering grade 2-12. Whether you are new to football or a seasoned player, Totino-Grace Football Camps will help you gain and enhance skills, develop your athleticism, make friendships, and have fun. Coach Ferguson and the football program coaching staff look foward to assisting each player improve their techniques and gain a greater knowledge of the game.

Youth Football Camp for students entering grades 2-9
The Totino-Grace Youth Football Camp is a non-contact camp. Our goals are to teach the basic fundamentals of offense, defense, and the kicking game to each participant. Important skills are taught through individual drills, group drills, and lead-up games.

Participants Will Receive: every player recieves a football camp t-shirt

Camp Format: Players are divided into four different age groups (group 1: 2nd and 3rd graders; group 2: 4th and 5th graders; group 3: 6th and 7th graders; group 4: 8th and 9th graders). Athletes entering the 2nd through 6th grade are taught skills related to every position as well as punting and kicking. Athletes entering 7th through 9th grade choose an offensive and defensive position and practice both of these positions at each session.

Impact Period: Only motivated players entering 7th - 9th grade who would like an extra 30 minutes of instruction per day at a particular position should sign up for the Impact Period. This will start at 5:45 p.m. each day.


High School Football Camp for incoming students in grades 9-12

Totino-Grace Hockey Camps will offer individuals of all levels a chance to improve their skills, enhance their love of the sport, meet new friends, and have fun.

Boys Hockey Camp for students entering grades 7-12

Participants should plan to attend a team meeting at Brookly Park Ice Arena on Friday, June 8, from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. followed by ice time from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. and 6:15 - 7:15 p.m.

Dates: June 11, 12, 14, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28; July 9, 10, 12, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26

Girls Hockey Camp for students entering grades 7-12

This on-ice training will focus on individual skills such as power skating, shooting, and stick-handling as well as team skills such as passing and puck support.  The camp will also include scrimmages against other high school STP programs (dates, times and locations to be determined).

Camp Details: We will be introducing and practicing basic lacrosse skills, including catching, passing, scooping, and cradling. Additionally, we will demonstrate the different positions on the field and the foul rules.

To receive the discount, please register for the camp at full price (make sure the others in your group are registering as well).  Once all 5 or more are registered, please send an email to Jan Thomas, Activities Assistant, at jan.thomas@totinograce.org with the names of campers in your group.  The $15 refund will be issued to the debit or credit card used for registration.

Camp Details: The camp staff will create an environment where each camper will experience the opportunity to improve technically, tactically, physically, and mentally. After fifteen hours of training, the players' understanding of the game will be heightened and the player's touch on the ball will improve.

The Totino-Grace summer strength & conditioning program is for boys and girls of all athletic levels and abilities and is designed to enhance skills important for all sports. Participants will increase strength, speed, explosiveness, and change of direction ability to enhance athletic performance and minimize risk of injury.

Strength & Conditioning camp for boys and girls entering grades 7-8
The program is designed specifically for middle school students.

The Totino-Grace girls' swimming program is a co-op with the Fridley swimming program. Summer swim camp opportunities will take place through Fridley Public Schools.
