Totino-Grace Students Continue to Excel Through College in the Schools Partnership

Totino-Grace students are continuing to benefit from one of the most valuable academic opportunities available at the high school level through our partnership with the University of Minnesota’s College in the Schools (CIS) program. Recent data shared by the University of Minnesota highlights the strength of the program at Totino-Grace and the meaningful impact it is having on students and families.

During the 2024–25 academic year, 185 Totino-Grace students participated in CIS courses, totaling 345 course registrations. An incredible 344 of those registrations resulted in grades of “C” or better, representing a 100% success rate. Students earned a combined 1,179 University of Minnesota college credits through the program.

Beyond the academic achievement itself, the financial value to families is significant. According to the University of Minnesota, the credits earned by Totino-Grace students this year equate to nearly $687,000 in university tuition value.

Research from the College in the Schools program also continues to show the long-term benefits of dual enrollment opportunities. Between 84% and 88% of CIS alumni reported feeling better prepared academically for college because of their participation in the program, while 97% to 98% said they would recommend CIS courses to other high school students.

The success of the program at Totino-Grace is made possible through the dedication of our College in the Schools instructors, who continue to provide students with engaging, rigorous, college-level learning experiences. CIS instructors also participate in faculty-led professional development through the University of Minnesota, helping ensure students are challenged, supported, and prepared for success beyond high school.

We are grateful to our CIS teachers and academic leaders for continuing to create transformational learning opportunities for Totino-Grace students as they prepare for college, leadership, and lives of purpose.
