Totino-GraceA Catholic High School in the Lasallian Tradition
In his Lenten message for 2017, Pope Francis reminds us, "Lent is a favorable season for opening the doors to all those in need and recognizing in them the face of Christ." He shares, "May the Holy Spirit lead us on a true journey of conversion, so that we can rediscover the gift of God’s word, be purified of the sin that blinds us, and serve Christ present in our brothers and sisters in need. Let us pray for one another so that, by sharing in the victory of Christ, we may open our doors to the weak and poor. Then we will be able to experience and share to the full the joy of Easter."
Lent is one of the major liturgical seasons of the Catholic Church that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Thursday. During this season, our global and local faith communities are invited in a particular way to embrace God’s mercy in our lives and share that mercy with the world around us. We are reminded through our Lasallian charism to be models of the gospel in preparation for Easter.
Totino-Grace offers a number of opportunities for you and your family to partner with us during the Lenten Season. We invite you to explore the resources and information on this page.
Join us as we are guided by God's call to pray, fast, give, act, and connect.
Daily after school service options are available to students in all grades. Information and sign up forms are available in the Campus Ministry Office.
Please pray for and support our Mission Trips this Lent. We will be sending students and staff to Alabama and New York.
This Lenten season students, staff, and members of our community are invited to participate and commit to praying, giving, fasting, acting, and connecting.
Pray - In addition to daily Lenten prayers, students will share a unique and special Lenten prayer together in religion classes.
Give - Each Tuesday, students will be asked to give of their treasures to an organization in need. Each week a new organization will be introduced and students will have an opportunity to offer financial support during religion classes.
Fast - On Wednesdays, our community is invited to fast together. Each week a specific category will be identified, like technology, beauty products, food, etc.
Act - In addition to our daily service, we want to provide students with another chance to act this Lenten season. Our focus will be service to Feed My Starving Children each Thursday.
Connect - Fridays during Lent we want to encourage students to strengthen their relationships with God, parents, siblings, teachers, and peers.
