About Brian

The Brian Hara Legacy Scholarship was established in 2019 to memoralize Brian and the impact he had on the world.

Brian attended St. Odilia School from kindergarten through 8th grade. Starting at a young age, he excelled in academics and athletics. He was on the St. Odilia wrestling team and the Math Masters team.

He then went to Totino-Grace High School where he graduated with honors in 2005. During his time at Totino-Grace, he won multiple state championships, was the captain of the wrestling team, captain of the football team, an all-state athlete, an honor student and participated in the Positive Leadership Peer Program (PPLP).

After high school he went on to graduate with distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Business School and became a successful entrepreneur founding Blackhawk Investment Group. Brian was able to accomplish more success in his 31 years than most do in a lifetime. The only thing more admirable than his accomplishments was his character.

Brian was a compassionate humanitarian.

The level of care Brian had for other people stretched far beyond a typical person's capacity. He was accepting of others and it was rare to ever hear him pass judgement or speak negatively of someone.

Brian constantly sought out ways to connect with, encourage and help others. He always offered to give his time, resources and support to others and never expected anything in return. His kindness and generosity extended far past family and friends to acquaintances, work associates and even complete strangers.

Humble and never boastful, Brian never wanted credit for his acts of kindness or his accomplishments and rarely spoke of them.

Brian was a leader.

Brian wasn't afraid to go into the unknown first and lead by example. Many of his friends and family often looked to him for advice in business, relationships and life. As a natural mentor, he gave others confidence, believed in them and trusted in their abilities. His encouragement and commitment inspired many.

Brian was a passionate student of life.

Always curious and open minded, Brian was a lifelong learner. He was perpetually interested in meeting new people, hearing a new perspective and exploring new topics.

Brian was fiercely ambitious and passionate in all aspects of life with a work ethic that couldn't be matched. That ambition and passion led him to become a successful entrepreneur, an Ironman athlete, a voracious reader, a dynamic public speaker, a beautiful writer, a humanitarian, a philanthropist, a loving partner and an incredible person.

During his short time here on earth, Brian accomplished great things and touched the lives of many. He made the world a significantly better place and inspired many others to do the same.
