2021-2022 Tuition Freeze
Initial Coronavirus Impact
The coronavirus pandemic impact on the United States began in the spring of 2020, creating financial uncertainty for many Totino-Grace families. Layoffs, cutbacks, and furloughs caused significant concern for parents and guardians. Hearing from families who were unable to make their tuition payments on time and worried about future income caused TG school leaders to react.
Community Aid, Spring 2020
In May, we called on our generous community, and Eagles everywhere flew into action! In one month, alumni, parents, grandparents, teachers, and friends contributed over $250,000 to the TG Emergency Support Fund. Their gifts helped Totino-Grace families impacted financially by the pandemic to meet tuition obligations for the 2019-2020 academic year, ensuring their students would continue to be a part of the TG community.
Thanks so very much to you and our TG family for being so very thoughtful of us during this very difficult time. This means a lot to our family. Frankly, we have been very troubled as to whether our student would have continued his schooling at TG for the next school year. But for some reason, we trusted that some way, somehow, our TG family would come around us and you have demonstrated that to us. Thank you, thank you, and thank you. -TG Current Parent
Additional Community Support, Fall 2020
In addition, the November 2020 Winter Place Gala Fund-A-Need appeal for tuition assistance broke records with $624,395 donated to aid families in immediate need of tuition assistance.
Considering the Ongoing Needs of TG Families
The global pandemic continues to impact families in our community and those considering enrolling their students at Totino-Grace. To respond to the identified needs of current and incoming families due to existing income changes and future uncertainty, the Board of Directors examined possible tuition relief options.
Board of Directors Response
Affordability and accessibility for any family who wishes to provide a Totino-Grace education for their child is a priority for school leaders. In response to the significant financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic for so many, action was taken to provide financial relief for all Eagle families in the coming year.
On December 3, 2020, the Totino-Grace Board of Directors approved a tuition freeze for the 2021-2022 academic year. Current tuition rate and enrollment and technology fees will remain the same for returning and incoming students.
