Winning is important but secondary to learning and development. We are going to try to win every game. Someone once said, "It is not whether you win or lose but how you play the game." We will constantly focus on the how you play the game. We will do this by teaching the kids not only what to do but how to do it a certain way. When the season is over, every girl will be able to say they improved in at least one of the following areas: game defense, hitting, base running, and pitching.

Lettering Policy

Softball athletes will letter in the following ways:

Play in over half the games scheduled.
Make the State Tournament.
Do not break MSHSL rules.
Coaches feel you earned the Eagle letter and will wear it with pride.

Practice, Attendance, and Conduct

Practice: This is the place to make yourself better and challenge each other. We will work on fundamentals each day. The practice will be at least two hours long at the Varsity level and 1.5 hours for the freshmen and JV teams.

Attendance: Mandatory for all practices and scrimmages. Excused absences will be for sickness, medical reasons, school events and church. Unexcused absences will result in loss of playing time in a game. Softball takes priority over other sports that you may be playing during the softball season.

Conduct: Players are required to hustle at all times. There will be no cussing, criticizing or condemning teammates, opposing players or umpires. This applies to every player, parent, and coach. If you are upset about something, please come talk to the coach. All we ask is you wait 24 hours.
