Program Information
Totino-Grace Boys Golf Mission Statement
The Totino-Grace Boys Golf Program seeks to provide a positive experience to each player. It is based on hard work, teamwork, discipline, dedication, and selflessness. The coaches, student athletes, and parents are expected to demonstrate honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship, keeping with MSHSL guidelines and the spirit of the game of golf. Since golf is a lifelong sport, we believe every boy should have the opportunity to learn the etiquette and rules of the game. The Totino-Grace Boys Golf Program makes sure that every student athlete can participate in the golf program.
There are three teams for Boys Golf: Varsity, JV, and Development. Each year 20-26 boys earn a spot on the Varsity or JV teams through early season tryouts and practices. In order to be a member of these teams, a player should know it is possible that he will be asked to play 12 or more events during the season. It is typical that most events occur during school hours. As a result, a player must be in good academic standing and maintain this during the season to assure themselves the opportunity to play in events. The Varsity and JV teams could have up to 4 after-school practices each week, outside of events. Each Varsity and JV player is expected to purchase the team uniform each season. The Development team typically has one after-school practice each week, and does not play in outside events like the Varsity and JV teams. It is not expected that Development team members order a uniform, as a result, though they have the opportunity to do so at the same time the Varsity and JV teams order theirs.
Lettering Policy
In order to earn a varsity golf letter:
1) The athlete must compete in at least 20% of all varsity matches, which include conference and non-conference matches and invitational tournaments.
2) The athlete also must finish the season in good standing.
3) The player's score must be used in one varsity event.
Home Course
The home course for the boys golf team is Victory Links in Blaine, MN.
