Program philosophy is simple. Hard work pays dividends. Nothing happens without effort. And improvement is the responsibility of the athletes. Coaches provide information regarding skills, fitness and team play. It’s up to the athletes to implement team play and work towards positive results.
The program welcomes anyone who has a desire to learn the game and work hard to get better. Athletes for other disciplines are encouraged to try-out and contribute to our winning attitude. Our motto for 2019 is, “All In” which means you have to work in the off season on your fitness and lacrosse skills. You have to apply yourself academically throughout the entire year. You have to understand we work hard in practice so we can have fun in games. Positive attitudes and a clear mind will help set the framework for your success.
Since the age five, Coach Abboud has been involved in competitive sports (soccer, baseball, basketball, and martial arts). A passion for helping individuals reach their full potential led him to coaching. Over the past 20+ years, he has coached national and international champions in martial arts and competed as a sponsored national champion for nine years as well. For the last six years, Coach Abboud has been involved in lacrosse and is currently a coach with the Minnesota Lakers Select club team. He feels fulfilled through his work teaching, supporting, and empowering young people to set goals and learn how to reach them through lacrosse. He resides in Brooklyn Park with his wife (who also coaches lacrosse), two daughters, and three dogs.
"I’m excited to continue my coaching career at Totino-Grace. I look forward to teaching and reinforcing the basic foundations of lacrosse while giving our athletes room to play with creativity, working together to create a culture of positivity, fostering a family atmosphere within the team, keeping each other accountable, and teaching life skills and lessons through the sport of lacrosse."
