30 Hour Famine

Each day, nearly 7,000 children die due to hunger-related causes. One in eight Americans are suffering from hunger every day. Food insecurity and hunger are a global issue. As a community, we want to stand in solidarity and care for those suffering from hunger and support sustainable change in communities around the world.

From Wednesday, March 21 - Thursday, March 22, Totino-Grace Campus Ministry will sponsor a 30 hour famine. During these 30 hours, students, faculty and staff, and community members will be invited to go without food. During these 30 hours, famine participants will learn about hunger, and grow closer to Christ and each other as they fast together for 30 hours and help raise funds to help fight hunger locally.

Wednesday, March 21, at 7:30 a.m. to Thursday, March 22, at 1:30 p.m.

  • Students must sign up in the campus ministry office by end of the day Tuesday, March 20

  • Students must complete a permission form in order to participate

  • Students will eat breakfast before they come to school on Wednesday

  • All those participating will meet during the late start period

  • Wednesday evening, participants will be invited to serve together at Feed My Starving Children, Coon Rapids, from 8:00-9:30 p.m. (transportation details to come)

  • All participants will gather Thursday morning for prayer

  • A final gathering for participants will take place on Thursday for reflection and snacks.
