TOTINO-GRACE TO OFFER A BUS ROUTE!!

After conducting research and studying the results of a transportation survey, Totino-Grace now offers a MORNING ONLY bus route through the Maple Grove, Osseo, Brooklyn Park, and Champlin areas.  The bus stops include Sam's Club (I-94 and County Road 30), St. Vincent DePaul Church (93rd and Jefferson Highway), and the Park and Ride at Noble Ave N and Highway 610. 

The schedule is as follows (updated on 8-26-11):

6:27AM - Sam's Club

6:41AM - St. Vincent DePaul

6:50AM - Noble Ave and 610 Park & Ride

7:12AM - Arrive at Totino-Grace

The 2012-13 cost for riding this route will be $600 for the first child and $200 for each additional child in the family.  This breaks down to $3.43/day for one child and $2.29/day for two children.  This fee can be paid with a single check or can be divided equally into two payments due on August 1st and October 1st.  By enrolling your child(ren) to ride the bus, you are responsible for paying the entire amount to cover the cost of the bus for the full school year.  In the event that there are not enough riders your payment will be reimbursed.  If you are interested in signing up for this bus route, please complete and return the contract.

Transportation

Totino-Grace does not offer busing with the exception of the AM only route starting in Maple Grove. The majority of students drive or are involved in a carpool. Totino-Grace will provide a list of students living in your zip code area if you are interested in setting up a carpool. For this list please contact the Transportation Director, Mike Smith at 763-586-6333.

Two public school districts continue to provide busing to Totino-Grace, they are Moundsview and Fridley.

 Mounds View School District Busing Policy:

Mounds View School District students will be able to ride the Mounds View School District buses to Irondale or Mounds View high schools. They will then be shuttled to Totino-Grace on District 621 buses. On days when Totino-Grace has school and District 621 does not, Totino-Grace High School students will have to furnish their own transportation to get to school. There will be no charge for this service for students living more than two miles from Irondale or Mounds View high schools. For students living inside that two mile ring, District 621 would charge them $250.00.

Totino-Grace High School will send a list of Totino-Grace High School students living in the Mounds View School District to Chris, Mounds View School District transportation director, in early June. Chris will then send a bus registration letter to all those families with the details of busing for their home address.

Fridley School District Busing Policy:

Totino-Grace High School families that live in the Fridley School District, and live more than 1 mile from Totino-Grace High School, who wish to take the Fridley School District sponsored bus to Totino-Grace High School, should call Cindy McKay, Fridley School District transportation director, at (763) 742-7830. There will be no charge for this service. Fridley will also run buses to Totino-Grace High School on the days that Totino-Grace High School has school, and Fridley does not.

Northstar Rail

The Northstar Rail now provides service to the North and Northwest suburbs along Highway 10. One of the stations is located in Fridley at 61st Way NE and East River Road NE. There is a shuttle service available from that station to Totino-Grace High School. The morning pick up will be at 6:55 AM, right after the 6:50 AM scheduled stop. This will be the only time available. In the afternoon there will be a bus leaving at 3:40 PM from Totino-Grace High School back to the Fridley station for the 4:10 PM departure. Both the morning and afternoon shuttles will be very closely monitored and if not utilized will be adjusted or cancelled. For now, there will be no charge for this shuttle service but this will also be looked at closely. All of this is subject to change as we adapt and adjust to the new opportunities.

NEW!!!  Metro Transit Student Pass!!

Metro Transit is now offering Totino-Grace Students passes that will significantly reduce the cost of Northstar Rail riders.  The cost before the pass would have been $6.50/day for a two way ride.  With the student pass that cost will be $2.50/day for a two way ride.  Follow this link for the student pass information -- http://www.metrotransit.org/1student-pass.aspx or check out this brochure.
